A Message from Mayor England

St. Augustine Beach, Fla – In this time of the COVID-19 Health Crisis, the health and well-being of our residents is the priority for the Mayor, Commission and all personnel of the City of St. Augustine Beach.

We are putting into practice the Executive Order by Governor Ron DeSantis that was issued on Tuesday, March 17, 2020. Executive Order 20-68. Our Police Agency is taking action to inform restaurant owners of the Governor’s March 17 Executive Order to limit restaurant seating to 50% of the capacity.  We are in communication with the County to ensure we have a unified response during this crisis.

While we are following the order from the Governor, we are also asking the residents for their help to ensure the best for our Community.  For example, we recommend that residents do the following:

1) Adhere to social distancing; dispense with shaking hands and maintain a reasonable 6-foot distance.

2)  Wash your hands frequently and carry hand sanitizer.

3) Carry disinfectant wipes and wipe down public surfaces.

4) Limit gatherings or attendance at gatherings to no more than 10 people.

5) Opt for restaurant take-out or delivery.

We are also asking residents to follow the best practices put forth from the Center for Disease Control, for more information, please visit recommendations of the CDC,  www.cdc.gov  or www.floridahealth.gov, call 1.866.779.6121, or email covid-19 [at] flhealth.gov.

Continuous personal effort is the key to defeating the spread of COVID-19.

Best regards for the safety of all residents of the City of St. Augustine Beach.

Margaret England
