Code Enforcement

As of July 1, 2021, Florida State Statute 162.06 (1) (b) will require complainants to include their full name and address with their complaint. The Code Enforcement will no longer be allowed to initiate an investigation without this information unless Code Enforcement has reason to believe that the violation presents an imminent threat to public health, safety, or welfare or imminent destruction of habitat or sensitive resources.

The Code Enforcement Board is a quasi-judicial board that makes decisions on pending code enforcement matters and may levy fines and lien property. This board usually meets quarterly or as required when matters are pending on the fourth or last Wednesday of the month at 2:00 p.m. at City Hall. 

Code Enforcement cases are presented to this board by the Code Enforcement Officers, where the property owners and contractors involved with the violations may plead their case before the Board.

The removal of trees on private property is permitted, so long as compliance with the  City Codes and Ordinances regarding Tree Removal is adhered to. A few reference links can be found here:

The Code Enforcement division also manages transient rentals within City limits. Transient rental license availability is strictly based upon zoning.
