The City of St. Augustine Beach Building & Zoning Department is seeking applicants for the position of Planner. Responsible for administering, interpreting, drafting, amending, and implementing the City’s Land Development Regulations and related ordinances by analyzing zoning, land‑use, and transportation proposals; conducting research and data analysis; and preparing and updating components of the Comprehensive Plan. The role includes coordinating with citizens, developers, attorneys, and various City boards and departments; providing technical guidance on planning and zoning requirements; performing administrative tasks such as record maintenance and document preparation; and supporting other City departments during routine operations and emergency events. The position of Planner shall require a bachelor's degree in planning, public administration, or a related field, supplemented by two (2) years of professional planning and zoning experience in a similar public field or organization, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

Starting pay is $54,697.69, however consideration will be given to prior related experience and certifications. Medical insurance included with options for dental & vision, FRS retirement plan, life insurance, with paid holidays and vacation time.
