Opening and Proclamation
The meeting commenced with a proclamation recognizing July 18, 2026, as America’s
250th Liberty Tree Day. In collaboration with the Daughters of the American

over approximately six months, with the goal of appointing a new City Manager

A request for contract extension was reviewed; additional detail has been
requested prior to reconsideration in July.

Smoking and Vaping Regulations:
The Commission directed staff to draft an ordinance aligned with recent county
regulations for consideration at a future meeting.
Fiscal Year 2027 Budget Planning:
Preliminary budget discussions highlighted potential revenue reductions
associated with proposed homestead exemption changes, with projected losses
of approximately $560,000 in the first year and over $1 million in the second
year.
The City also introduced a new online transparency platform to enhance public
access to financial information. Budget workshops and hearings are scheduled to
begin in July.
