City Holds Successful Ribbon Cutting Ceremony

October 5, 2023 - St. Augustine Beach, FL. -  On Wednesday, October 4, the city held a ribbon cutting ceremony commemorating the completion of Phase II of Ocean Hammock Park. The city’s Vice Mayor, Dylan Rumrell gave a speech recognizing the collaborative efforts of all parties involved to complete this project. Rumrell commented, “This ribbon cutting shows the commitment the commission has to preserving valuable property while upgrading a park for the residents of St. Augustine Beach.” 

Attendees of the event included District 5 County Commissioner, Henry Dean, St. Augustine Beach Commissioners Undine George, Beth Sweeny and Virginia Morgan, St. Augustine Beach Police Chief, Daniel Carswell as well as city staff.

Improvements from Phase II include:

- ADA accessible public restrooms,

- An ADA accessible parking pad,

- Outdoor shower and foot wash,

- Water fountain and bottle filling station,

- Educational kiosk,

- ADA accessible nature trail with interpretive signs,

- Picnic area with two tables,

-Two bike racks, and

- An ADA accessible sidewalk that connects to the existing Ocean Hammock Park boardwalk.
